It's been about 5-6 years since I've gone metal detecting. My back was really sore at the time and just needed some time off. My detector is pretty old now (Minelab Musketeer Advantage), and it's probably part of the problem since I'm too old to be digging almost everything. Anyway, walked to a local elementary school and spent about 1.5 hours meandering about trying to remember where I needed to set my discrimination. In all I found six clad quarters, six clad dimes, one nickel, and thirteen pennies (all zinc-lincs). I also found a small 925 gold plated pendant.
A highlight that I didn't expect until I dumped my find bag was a chunk of lead slag from my last hunt all those years ago. I believe it's a Civil War era relic leftover from casting bullets (I live very close to a large Civil War battlefield) or a fire starter.
Anyway, it was good to get back out again...I didn't realize how out of shape I am.
