I got out awhile with my buddy Garrett today. The first tear down we hit was a bust, just a little bit of clad. Terribly trashy. We finally decided to move. He was swinging the 900, and I was swinging the Manticore. We moved to another empty lot where a house had once stood. The house has been gone for several years. It had been hunted before by Garrett, but not with any SMF detectors that we know of. Right out the gate Garrett comes walking over with thin dime in a clod to play the one dime game. It was very thin so I called Seated. Boom! It was, and only his second Seated ever. The place was very trashy in places, and constant iron grunts. Melted aluminum blobs, can slaw, the typical urban blight tear down spot. It was old though so I dug more trash than usual not taking any chances. I had dug a little clad and a lot of junk when I got a quarter signal bouncing 88-90 one way. If you turned on it then it got nasty sounding. The trace on the Manticore was a blob on the non-ferrous line one way and the other it was ferrous pulled down into the non-ferrous line. I dug it and there was iron the hole. It ended up being two silver quarters that had been touching. I probably separated them digging around for them. One quarter appeared to have iron adhering to it. There was a werid flat piece of iron in the hole near both of the quarters. That was my first ever two silver quarters in the same hole. A few minutes later Garrett gets a another silver quarter. Anyway it was getting late when we got there, and we are going to go back tomorrow and see how it goes. It's not a lot of fun swifting through that mess until you find silver.
