I think anything over 50 (Gold) is excellent. One thing I have noticed over the last 5 years is how many hunters on FB claim 100 to 200 rings a year,
they leave out the fact 99% of them are junk rings.

I lost 16 years of detecting pictures when my 4TB USB drive crash at the first of this year, but I did find one of my ring videos from the rings I found in 2010. No beaches in southwest Kansas. These are from dirt fishing and tot lots.

Yeah i think i get about 250 a year unfortunately mostly junk and silver i struggle to average 24 gold shoot now that i think about it i'm depressed

Absolutely loved this post and those pictures.
I wonder what kind of detector he was using in 1958 ? And yes, I've heard of conditions so good, that an md'r here put down his detector, and just blindly scooped with his sandscoop , for an hour or two, at the base of concrete rip-rap, that had acted as type of riffle board. He ended up with something like 700 or 800-ish coins, of which 100 were silver . And something like 13 gold rings.
And the ONLY reason he couldn't continue the fray, was that the tide chased him out. Doh !

I just assumed when I posted, but I only count gold rings. I also count returns. If I counted silver and junkers I'd already be in the 100's.

Earl... I only hunt minus tides which happen twice a month and only a few days each week that they happen on... tomorrow I am planning on going tomorrow if I can get up and out early... the rain and wind are coning by 11 am and that is when its low...
I'm still trying to finish my leaf jobs stupid trees still holding onto the sugar maples and Japanese red maples... 4 accounts left then I am free everyone else is done...

Somebody has been bad here , Ghosting my cameras till 330 am last night , ghost beam laser , was so bad I was waiting in my tree line , hope I don't catch him , Ill need to bailed out , almost 10 here , time to go hunting , glad to see your on top of things Craig , my luck washer went up on the 17th , 2 days it was supposed to be delivered , today she told me its not in the warehouse , would you like us to re-order
12 days without a washer , and the ghosting , im going nuts , told her to refund , shopping BF sale ends tomorrow , going somewere else to get it , sad thing , Ill be waiting another week

This thread has me just wanting to give up,thanks guys..I wish I lived near a ocean, unfortunately all we have here in my town is a muddy river the unemployed sunbath near that I've named cracker beach. I've went over the area those sungods where inhabitating,and didn't find nothing but a bus pass and a keychain with the name Bubba on it..if I ever move I'm looking back on this thread, and whoever has the most gold rings I'm looking for a place in your town.
