hi everyone!
our detecting club had permission to hunt a 1700's colonial farmhouse.it was a tavern in the early 1800's.alot of relic finds.revolutionary war army regiments were recorded as being on this property.alot of neat stuff was found today.i pulled a revolutionary war era buckle,a old pocket watch back aneat scrolled button & some other odds and ends.some guy pulled this huge crotal bell and gave it to my hunting buddy ron.i was given the 3 brass items in the picture under my finds.2 buckle type thingy's and some other cool thing with a date of 1810 on it.after the hunt we got permission in another town to detect this huge abandoned mansion.a few odds and ends there. ron pulled a nice little kids gold ring,a large cent.i pulled a little ornate button seen in the photo with the iron war era buckle.overall a good day.everyone had fun.

Oh man... that looks like fantastic day.

So many finds! :wow: Great looking mansion too.

Hey Adam

cool, did any coins come out ?? looks like a ton of iron in Pic # 2
A FEW MERCS CAME OUT,A BUFFALO,AND A SILVER WASHINGTON QUARTER.IF SOME LARGE CENTS CAME OUT NOBODY SAID ANYTHING.I GUESS MAYBE THE HOME OWNERS WOULD HAVE WANTED TO KEEP THEM.SO IF SOMEONE FOUND ONE THEY NEVER SAID ANYTHING.:(
THE ONLY COIN I FOUND ON THIS HOME SITE WAS A 54 NICKEL

Great job Dave, Glad you had a good time. I'll be there someday hunting with ya!

Your Bud,
Bruce

looks like the place to be

definitely my kind of hunting Dave ,great bunch of relics . was that a club hunt only or was it open to anyone ? i think it was hit before , you guys should of pulled tens or scores of coins from a tavern site . great pictures as usual my friend . Dan

What a fantastic place to be able to hunt! Congrats to all on some really neat finds!

Dave,
You get the best places to hunt. I grew up in weston and roamed around in Fairfield county a lot in my youth. That place looks alttle familiar. What town were you in.
Mike

Now that's a fun day ! Is that you in front of the mansion ? That's a cool pic.
