Nobody knows exactly how good this thing will work in saltwater, all the different soils we hunt in or anything else.
All new products looked great in initial videos...look at the early MX Sport vids...
Reality came crashing down when they finally released the thing with so many problems.
Then again it is nice to dream.
When it is finally released and into many more hands for initial testing we will know soon enough if it lives up to the massive hype.
Maybe it will but that remains to be seen.
In my dirt I am not impressed with multi frequency Minelabs...I know people with E Tracs and others that don't seem to do all that well but my dirt is unusually weird with many problems.
For me the rumors going around about new PI units is much more interesting.
Whites is supposed to have something new that is a combination of VLF and PI technology.
FTP is also working on something similar, supposedly, and they just hired the engineer that tweaked a PI into the Manta unit shown in this vid...

A PI unit that has a reliable, working form of discrimination, especially in iron infested and fe/ox mineralized dirt, would be huge around here...a massive game changer of the highest order.
Again, just rumors and a couple of interesting vids to ponder so far.
Will anything new live up to it initial hype, always the possibility they can but in my life I have found it prudent to take anything and everything with a grain of salt.
We will know soon enough about the Equinox and hopefully some others in the pipeline.
Looking forward to real in the field results when you get yours, it might turn out to be everything you want it to be and more.
