I just finished our last weekend hunting an old college/high school football stadium. What an amazing hunt! The field was built in the 50’s. It hasn’t been used since the early 2000’s, and is slated for demolition next summer for a new athletic complex to be built. We spent 4 weekends there from 8am to 7pm every day.The two of us have been hunting the place with a couple others invited in. Lots of ground to cover!!

We hunted 2 weekends last year and 2 weekends this year. Last year was insane! We have pulled so many coins out of this place. We figure we are close to 2500 coins pulled out of here! Yesterday was our last outing here for the year and we still pulled 120 more coins. Half of that were penny. The coin signals are getting less and less. We finally got the clad layer off and have been finding more silver and jewelry! We have been hoping for gold, but none was found. We chased all mid tones signals yesterday.

I swear kids were just throwing quarters at each other here. We found so many spills here it has been amazing. Also silver has been plentiful.

So many bests and firsts here.
Most quarters found in one day
Biggest silver!
Most silver found in one day (14)
Most clad found
Best spill of 2 walkers
$3.00 in quarters in one hole
Wheat penny spills
Wheat/Nickel/Mercury spill!

I would have never thought there would be this much change. I had hoped for some silver and have been blown away with the finds!

If you see an opportunity somewhere take the chance and start asking! Send emails. Knock on doors. If I wouldn’t have chased this place and asked for permission it would be gone next year. Then I would have to drive by it everyday and wonder. I didn’t think they would have allowed us in there, but they did! I sure hope we can convince them to let us in next year once they start scrapping off the dirt!

Pictures to follow.

That’s Awesome!!! And You’re exactly right! If You don’t ask, You won’t know, and driving by it every time, that wonder will always be in Your mind!! Good job on going for it and Congrats on all the Great finds!!! Definitely not an every day spot!!

Here are some of the finds from last year. Last year had the most clad coins found. You couldn’t take a step without a coin signal. Quarter signal here, dime signal there. 2 quarters in the hole, 3 quarters in the hole. So many coins. The pictures are of my find and my friends finds for 2 weekends in 2021.

Great site!

2500 coins? Wow. Although, it's really surprising that not one piece of gold was found. Do you have any idea why that might be? Were you all just digging high tones?

EDIT: I re-read your post. Yes, definitely start digging the mid tones!

Great site. Congrats on all the silver and clad. A real honey hole for sure. And 14 silver in one hunt is almost unheard of. You beat my best of 11 in one day. I remember one member here had a 17 or 18 silver coin spill but other than that not too many multiple silver hunts like you had. I would be hitting that place everyday. Good luck. Mark

I think we haven't found golds because we spent all this time chasing silver and coins. Yesterday was the first day we spent chasing mid signals only and we found some jewelry. Overall not much jewelry so far. We may be able to go back yet to chase more signals. I kept saying yesterday "There has to be gold here!"

We were hoping to find at least one class ring!

More pictures from last year. Some of the silver finds.

FYI, a little mis-leading. Seven was my best day for silver, and my best day ever. We found 14 in one day between the 3 of us. The most I have ever seen found in one day!

Thanks for clearing that up. Still 7 in one day is fantastic by any standards. Good luck. Mark

Here are this years pictures. A lot better for old coins this year now that most of the clad is removed. I say most because the first day there we found 609 coins!!!!

Best day last weekend. Two walkers in one hole! I can’t believe it still. I remember digging the quarter signal and screaming out that it’s a silver half! Then after cleaning and looking at it, I scan the hole again only to hear the same signal! Two in one hole!!

My best find yesterday!! I can not believe this was here! My first one! I never thought I found have found this!

Great find. There's a good chance that silver dollar was used for a coin toss at the beginning of a football game, and the person forgot to pick it up.

This is my thought too. It has to be. Pretty cool to find!

It was a crazy find too. It sounded like a silver dime/quarter. I would have assumed it would have pegged the detector out, haha. Then once I opened the plug, I thought it was a big piece of aluminum or a token. It was the last thing I expected to see!

Congrats on all the coins, clad, big and small silvers and the sterlings too! Those sites are dream locations. I found a similar honey hole site just like the one you hunted this year too, but without so many silvers as you found. The key is as we know is to just go for it, one way or another... Hopefully, you can get back there and find some more.
