4-button day and first token!

Visited a CW encampment area that has been heavily picked over for years. I found a ring, Merc, and button there last week.

Took my son first to another sure that was CLEAN, save for two 1980 pennies and a 5c token for Luzianne tea.

We went to the CW camp field and promptly found a button, and then 3 more. Only one is probably military. It's only the back of a two-piece and says EXTRA FINE and SUPER TREBLE on it.

Our favorite is the decorated 2-pc button that retained some gold.

Can anyone see what appears to be lettering on the plain 4-hole button? Does anyone have examples of text that might be there?

Any comments or identification hello is greatly appreciated.

Note: the Franklin half is for scale, not found in this dig.

I think I remember "blue bell" to be a brand of overalls or jeans.

You're right. I had Google it too, but failed to mention it in my post. My son thought it had to do with the ice cream brand. [emoji3]

Good Stuff! There's definitely something there on the 4 hole button, in my opinion. You might search around on the Etsy website. I found it to be a great resource for ID'ing finds.

I'd never have thought of that. I thought Etsy was for buying selling crafty stuff.

It is, but I do a search for items like "antique brass button" and there's like 500 items to look at....or search civil war button, cuff link...whatever.
