Did a little bottle digging this weekend. We found some pretty cool stuff. Took my brother on his first bottle digging trip and he found the tall green bottle. It is very cool! (beginners luck) If anyone can tell me anything about this bottle , I would appreciate it. I cant find anything out about it. The top looks as if it is an applied top. The seam dose not go over the lip. It has CC & Co. or CL & Co embossed on the bottom. I'm hoping Glasshopper will chime in on this one. This bottle has me a bit confused to its age.

Thanks
Mud

An embossed recipe on a bottle, if that doesn't beat all. Great bottles!

Those are fantastic! Thanks for sharing.. that "For Consumption" bottle has a great green color. Do you suppose it means that it can be consumed or it's for treating consumption? Interesting

Nice glass! Here's something on the Piso's Cure. Consumption was another name for tuberculosis. https://kihm2.wordpress.com/2015/09/16/pisos-cure/

Those are pretty common but as they come in many colors they are fun to collect. I have a green one like yours, which looks like an early example.

That slender green bottle - I can't say I've ever seen one - possibly olive oil or peppersauce? Looks pretty old. maybe 1890s-1900 era (?). Maybe post a pic of the bottom markings. Check these sites for the bottom markings: http://www.glassbottlemarks.com/bottlemarks-2/

Is that 7th bottle black glass? Can't tell.

I have a Chamberlain's med and those are among my favorite meds.

BTW, I tried to hit a dump today, but it STILL is too danged humid to dig.

I added a pic of the base. We think it says CC& Co. or CL& Co.
