Lost ring: Houghton lake, MI

I lost my ring about 7 years ago in Houghton Lake while throwing around a football. Not 10 minutes later a woman dove in the lake and lost hers as well. I know within a 30'x30' area where both these are. I only have a cheap bounty hunter detector and not sure I could find them. I also live 3.5 hrs away. Do any of you hunt this area? The water depth at that time was 3'-4'.

Bad luck for swimmers and football jocks, but not for us MD'rs. It sounds like a gold mine just waiting to be dug up. Darn shame I cancelled my plans for a Mich. trip or I would have been there with bells on.

Of course I would have had to go out and buy me a wet detector. But it may have been worth it.
