Today I found a heavy but small size 6 silver ring of thick twisted strand design. Said MEXICO and 925 inside.

If happened to be the very first signal I got and I hadn't made more than 3 swings. It was within 3" and sounded so loud I almost let it go thinking it was a large chunk of can or some other metal. Had I been tired, like later in the hunt, I would have never dug this very loud tone. Even on lifting my coil it was loud at 8" off the grass. Surely it must be big junk, I thought. Not this time.

Congrats on your silver ring. Do you have any pictures?

Limited me

Congrats on your silver ring. Do you have any pictures?

JB, I'm embarrassed to admit that I not only do not own a digital camera, but do not know how to include photos. My cell phone camera is 1.2 pix and is not much. My wife does have a camera I can use but so far I have not made the effort. As to my computer skills: I can use email, navigate this forum, and find the good porn sites but that's about all.

I really should read the stuff on this forum that teach nitwits like me to post pictures. I don't find unusual stuff but I do live in a pretty area with good scenery.

Congrats on the silver ring. At the risk of raining on the parade - that's really not my intent - you should have the ring tested to see if it's really silver through and through. I grew up on the Mexican border in a town called Del Rio, Texas, and I've seen many, many rings marked .925 turn a finger funny colors. It was embarrassing for the girl wearing it and devastating for the boy that bought...or maybe it was the other way around. I'm hoping you found the real deal though. There are some really nice pieces made in Mexico, you just have to find them. Who knows, maybe you did. ;)

I gave it to my wife. It fits her pinky finger. If this ring does not turn green it will be the first one she's received from me that didn't. You see, I can't lose.

Seriously, I think it's real. I had my discrimination way up and was only looking for coins. This thing made a big honking noise. Large silver really reacts on my Cibola.
