After a few non descript test hunts at the park I finally got out to my buddy's house. Only have spent an hour on the curb strip and found $1.50 in clad as well as this interesting personal item. I think it's so neat that the picture remained preserved all these years

Wow, that's a nice locket, and the photograph inside is intriguing! I wonder about the story behind it; perhaps it belonged to a mother who wanted to wear that picture of her child close to her heart. Congrats on the great piece of history! :woot:
 
Nice work, Hordfest! Amazing that picture survived! I love personal items like that...makes you wonder where that child is now, how old would he be...is he/she even alive??

And you know whoever lost that locket was probably heartsick over the loss.

It was about 4" down.

I'm going to try to find out who lived there in the 40s and 50s. Maybe I can find a descendent to give it to. I'll keep you all posted.
