Buried iPhone returned to owner after detector find

AN HONEST metal detectorist who found an expensive smart phone buried

on Winthorpe beach managed to return it to its Leicestershire owner.

I hope he got a reward. The article doesn't mention anything.

I found a nice smartphone recently (not an iPhone), I was able to return it to the owner, and they gave me 20 bucks. I was happy, especially since I wasn't expecting anything.

I found an iphone4. Contacted the owner and was able to return it. Nothing but a hassle. I was accused of stealing it and the whole situation was a mess. Honestly wasn't worth my effort to return it.

Never found a phone myself, but I did find a satnav.

I managed to power it up at home and it had an address on it close to the
field where I found it.
It was a pretty old model, and I think the owner must have thrown it out of
his car in frustration.

It eventually ended up in the rubbish sack.
