Got out early this morning for a hunt with Canadian guy, my wife, and my friend who got a new permission. It was HOT out there in the today, probably in the 90's and tough digging in hard ground. We hit an old Spanish church site that now is nothing other than a few bits of wall standing up out in a field up on a hill.
The only coin I dug all day was this one, a new one for me, 1798 quarter real from the mexico city mint. I guess if you're only going to dig one coin in a day that's a good one!
Last picture is of the group, i am far right, then canadianguy, my wife and our friend Raul. Good times!
HH all!

Thanks guys! That coin is tiny, you could probably fit two of them on a nickel, making it that much more satisfying to actually find.

Way to go - a fantastic & exciting find, and in good condition, too! What a great recovery.

By the way, your photo of the site with the local foliage in focus is really nice! To me, one of the many highlights of our hobby is getting to observe the beauty of my Lord's creation; and its also nice to see other detectorists' photos from their own hunts. So, thanks for sharing that picture!
