Found behind 1840's home site

I don't have a clue to what this is. But it looks like a good one.
it is non-ferrous and appears to be brass.

Need help on this one.

I dont know what these other guys are talking about, that is CLEARLY a shiny 2000's memorial :laughing: interesting relic! Hope someone can solve the mystery, definitely looks like some sort of horse tack.
 

Actually now I can see where it could be a stirrup and no bends, just breaks.
actually on the other side where the down part should be from the strap slot, it does clearly appear to be a break where the other down part was attached but now broken off with the bottom part.

And the small size if complete would indicate a child's stirrup. Maybe we are getting close now. That would seem like it would make it a more rare find since I would guess there are fewer child's stirrups in use than stirrups for adults.
