I am coming from about 15 years of hunting rocks on plowed fields to metal detecting. Two great hobbies that you can actually do at the same time!

You need to develop a metal detecting dance routine. You could have the finish a wild gold dance like Lance did on the British TV show "The Detectorists".
Sound like a smart young high school student with an active interests in different hobbies/vocations.
