The weather here has been pretty lousy here for Mding lately and I've got some outdoor projects I need to wrap up before winter gets here. I couldn't let today go by without getting out. Perfect day for just about anything but work. I had been eyeballing an old house built in 1918 and decided to do a drive-by and wouldn't ya know there was work going on in the back of the house so I stopped and ask the guy if by chance he was the owner. He said yes, I stated my business and said have at it. Now permissions for me lately have been hard to come by. so this in itself was huge. I started hitting Wheaties right away about 3 to 4 inched down. I'm thinking silver can't be too far behind. Now the owners father in-law comes over to see how I'm doing. Earlier he had had told me that he was into the civil war and at one time he had a top of the line White's that up and disappeared a couple years back. I showed him a nice dark wheat I had just pulled from the hole and told him I thought it had friends. Another dark wheatie and still the pinpointer was going off. At first it looked black like the others. but I noticed the rim looked silver. Huh? I proceeded to tell him that for me this was a special silver coin as it was # 100 for me since I started . A 43 Merc. My first silver was a 57n Gw. in Aug 2015. I didn't dislocate my shoulder patting myself on the back but none the less was a happy moment for me. Not long after I dug a dated buff which for me has always been tuff to find. Wheatie after wheatie total 14 for the day., oldest being a 1919. But no more silver to be found. I will hit this place again as I think with all those wheats there is more silver to be found. Thanks for lookin' and HH Mark Ps not sure why some of the pics loaded sideways

Thanks Jerry. I know for some 100 ain't a big deal but around here silver is pretty tuff to find. I get out about 100 times a year but if it ain't there you ain't gonna find it. Now on to 200. HH Mark

Congrats on the #100. I'm currently on #94 since I started. You should make a post showing your collection of 100 dug silvers. I'd be interested on the number of each type. Congrats.

Sounds like a great permission Mark. Congrats on reaching the career mile stone of 100 Silver Coins with the Merc. Having the commitment to make the efforts reaps the rewards. That is a lot of wheat's, hope you return trip adds to the Silver count. Trapper

Nice coins! I like the detail on the merc, and the dated buffalo is great! :woot: By the way, can you identify the rectangular item on the far right of the final pic? My brother Wolf-Dog and I have both found some objects that look similar to it (but they are without the part that appears to fold on top of yours). Thanks!

Congrats on #100 Mark! She's in great shape and even has a mint mark! And a buffalo with a date is definitely hard to come by. You did a lot better than I did today. I dug 25 wheats and one 1907 Indian in a 50'x50' section of yard today...not a single silver there!

Thanks Fred

But you killed on the wheats and an IHP to me is a good a a silver. I would say good hunt. HH Mark

Thanks Trapper I only need a couple thousand more to catch up to you. lol I had set a goal of a 100 for this year, and not for lack of trying but lack of location make it unlikely. Thanks again. HH Mark

Mark, congrats on a great hunt and your 100th silver. Any silver here is a good find. I find a lot of clads but very few silvers. GL and keep that streak going. I don't mind digging wheats either.
