I haven't been on the forum for a long time mainly because I don't get a chance to get out and hunt much anymore. I still have quite a bit of the "bug" in me and that will never change, especially when I find myself on family vacation. Naturally, packing the AT Pro with the family luggage is a no brainer, even if it means only one or two mornings of hunting over the entire week or so. [emoji2]

Last month we put over 3K miles on the car from Atlanta to Cleveland to Niagara Falls, ON to Central MA and finally back home. Got a chance to hunt where we stayed about 30 mins from Cleveland with not a lot of luck other than a pouch of mostly trash. That all changed when we had a few days in Niagara Falls, ON. I had about an hour and a half so tried to find what I'd hope would be a decent park.

The area I hunted was heavily occupied during the War of 1812 from what I learned but I didn't know what to expect. My first clue that I was in an area that has been heavily hunted before was my very first hit. My trowel broke a bunch of the plastic and cut the piece of paper but it was a token inside a small plastic bag. With the token was a piece of paper with "Canadian Heritage Seekers Metal Detecting Club" typed on it! For any members of the club on this forum just let me know what I've won. [emoji1] I tried not to get discouraged thinking that maybe over the years a few treasures still remain. Glad I stayed because after a few trash hits, came upon a really old button. Don't know if it's 1812 period but hopefully someone can shed some light on it. The next intriguing find was within about 15 yards of the button and that was the unidentifiable piece I am posting with the dime for size reference. Don't know if it's anything related to the war, piece of a gun, etc but thought it was rather interesting. Finally, my most valuable hit came when I was just about to call it quits and get back to my family at the hotel for breakfast and siteseeing...a rose gold(?) ring with "IBB 10K" stamp! No idea how old it might be but nice to find something like that. That was pretty cool to find a gold ring because I haven't found very many in the 10 years or so that I've been detecting. I will definitively say that after that short hunt, the bug is definitely back! Any help with identification of any of the items will be greatly appreciated! Thanks and happy hunting!

Looks like a handle off a car for the old style vent window's. Just a guess. Congratulations on the ring.

Finally got around to getting the ring cleaned at a jewelry store after almost 6 months. They took it out of a bag to show me when I went to pick it up. I can't believe this is the same ring!
