Had a lady call last summer about an earring she lost in her front yard.
She got my name and number from my det. dealer in NC, he has a list of volunteer detectorist in the area who will help people find an item instead of selling them a det. they will never use again. I arrived at her home on a sunday afternoon with my Troy x5, the only det. I own that I felt could find a small earring.
5 minutes later I put it in her hand. She insisted on paying me because the earrings were a gift to herself for beating cancer. I said it wasn't necessary but she insisted so I told her to give me 10% of the value, she wrote me a check for $125. Now thats what I call expensive earrings. I didn't feel to bad about taking it because the sub division she lived in the homes were 750k up.
