Even after my pinpointer died prior to my detecting day ending I managed to pluck this beauty from the dirt. It is obvious it is a button, but from what article of clothing? I can find no information of a company or brand called HorseHide in any of my searches.

Overalls was a thought

I was searching with the words conjoined and coming up empty. Using quotations along with the word overalls allowed me to find several advertisements showcasing HorseHide overalls.
 
Here's a 1939 ad from Gaffney, South Carolina. Overalls seem to have been a regional thing back then, the odd brands I've found were all made in a nearby state.

I did find this button in Gaffney, SC, so that makes sense. Thanks for the advertisement.
