Back on Jan. 2nd my first hunt and very first target was this 1971 Yale class ring. I was able to track down the owner and this past Friday I met up with him at a restaurant in downtown New Haven.
The coach is a world-class fencer and has been the head coach at Yale since 1971. The ring was a gift from three of his champion sabre and fencing students. He lost it in 1976 on the edge of his property and town open space where I recovered it. He actually tried to find it himself by getting a metal detector and checking his yard but to no avail.
I was pleased to be able to return it to him. He couldn't get over how it has come back to him after all these years. Happy hunting all!!!
