Less craziness...but still gettin' silver!

KT dumped this week's halves at the bank a few minutes ago. Got a reject coin from the machine...First thought, strange looking dime, then a closer look and realized it was a penny, and thought brightest steel penny ever! Then looked at the date...2003 P, then turned it over, and peeled off the thin coat of aluminum foil. His Majesty wonders...did someone think they could fool the machine into counting it as a dime? Or did they get it in change as a dime? HMMMM.

Thanks for the comments, cellrdwellr and Mud-puppy! Finding that aluminum coated penny reminded KT about the fellow in New York who printed $1 bills from the depression into the 1990s(?)... Finally got caught due to a fire in his apartment and a lot of his counterfit bills were shoved out the apartment window by the fire department into a snow bank, where some kids found them when the Spring thaw started....it was estimated by the cops that he passed somewhere around 350 thousand of them over the years! The FBI had known about him for decades, but he only passed a scattered few every day. So he was a low priority item for them.

One a different note, KT cleaned the 67 & 68 Kens, but the luster on the 69 was too pretty to clean!
