Spent musket ball?

Hey guys,

Is this a spent musket ball that maybe smashed into a tree or something?

Seems overly shiny to me.
It’s very dense.

Picture kinda makes them look tan in color, but they are Silver colored.

Found near Catskills national park in New York.

And ideas?

Probably a rock. If a musket ball hit a tree or rock yes it would probably flatten the forward end but the rear would still retain a roundness. That thing is totally mashed. Old muskets didn't have enough velocity for that, besides it looks rather large.

Looks like a rock. I have bowls of round balls that hit dirt, rocks, and trees..none of them look like that. I've also not seen lead have that jagged look either.
