CTX lower rod Lock Issues?

Hey, just asking anyone out there with a CTX have experienced a lack of lower rod "holding power" on the OEM cam lock on the CTX?

I have noticed overtime that either my cam/barrel lock (I am calling it that because what else is it?) is not holding the lower rod in extended position well anymore. I do run a after market lower and wondering if the diameter of the rod is slightly smaller or that the lock is just wearing out.

Never had a problem with mine but I'm all OEM. Try just taking a little 320 - 600 grit sandpaper and "roughen up" the section of the lower rod that is in the lock. Might just give it the "purchase" it needs. If not, mask off the section and give it a couple nice, even coats of a clear polyurethane. Follow the can instructions for re-coat time. It's a thin film so it may require several coats. Let dry thoroughly before trying, but it will build up the diameter.

same issue.. clean and apply a VERY thin layer of jb weld. dry.. sand until it has a decent bite again. done.
