forget about historical places to detect that isn't happening anywhere in Pennsylvania especially Gettysburg. Your on one of the right forums to get information about rules of metal deteting but if your not sure ask the loal municipalities some of the clerks should know if not the sheriff or police should know..
 
I figured anywhere around Gettysburg was off limits without question, but I'm sure I can find some places to go. Never know what you can find!
