I don't see many coins at this angle.

Not quite sure how I managed to miss the coin with my spade!!

Coin appears to be a Charles 1st (1625-49) sixpence.

Will put up another photograph on Saturday with the rest of the finds.

Very nice assortment including beautiful old silvers!
Are those round rings flat copper?

Thanks.

The rings are horse harness rings and are copper alloy, so many in one field is a sure sign that horses were kept in the field. (field next to a big house)

Can be difficult to date but in general 18th/19th/20th century.

Lace chape 19th/20th century

"The method of attachment of these chapes is to impregnate the end of the lace with a resin, which solidifies after insertion. The chape is then crimped and/or fitted with a transverse pin to retain the lace."
