I would expect one of these if I detected
out west, but have never gotten one
around here, so was both pleased & intrigued.
I don’t see them posted frequently, know they
have been used forever, but am curious if
anyone can tell me a little about this one.
Were they common ? Made here ( U.S.) or elsewhere ?
Collectible artifact, etc. ???

Any imput appreciated!

Thanks,

C

That's a really neat relic, unfortunately I know nothing about them. I'm sure someone can give you some info on it, congrats!

Thanks CD !

Someone might chime in.

Hate to say it.... We might b locked in
for a bit. Ground getting cement like. 😕

Maybe can hit the woods a bit still.

Glad the last “out’ with my son was
fun/productive. He got our 1st sterling
spoon. 😊

GL & HH if you do manage to get out.

Take care,

C

That one looks very much like a confederate spur. So if you are in New England, maybe it was a war relic a soldier brought home.

Thanks duggap,

Wish the rowel was still intact, it would
probably help to ascertain if it were in
fact Confederate. I’ve got a few CW era relics
found up this way but none Confederate.
I’d be happy to know I found one.

Thanks Again,

C

nice.. I like.. several years ago I found part of a broken spur... hopefully I'll find a whole one.. although I did find a whole one once but it was a kids toy spur. Congrats
