New Minelab Equinox

Bingo.
One problem with the soil in this area is its general color.
Rust colored.
So unlike say some of the Hoover boys videos where I have seen the rust spots in the dirt/plug.

Something I may try and do.

Carefully scoop a little of the close surrounding dirt and put in container.
See what magnet does to it.

And try and get some dirt from just outide this what seems like a less ferrous contaminated area and compare as far as quaintly of (dirt, etc) that stick ps to magnet.
Might tell me some thing.

I wonder though, is this decomposed ferrous (assuming)- is it ferrous or nonferrous.

Nonferrous (decomposed ferrous) I suppose could mask a nonferrous target too.

Maybe try breaking it up smaller or charging it slightly with warm water like listed here: https://www.scientificamerican.com/...-of-your-breakfast-cereal-bring-science-home/

Iron is pretty much everywhere, just in different quantities.

I was curious about that. Thanks for posting.

You are welcome.

I am trying to keep all Equinox info here in this thread.
We did have some other threads started.

But later on when folks are searching for good data.
This thread can be referred to hopefully.

Could a person who gets their Equinox post here.
Heck yeah.
The more the merrier.
And discussions too.
I am sure there will be some worthy discussions as far as use and performance in various settings.

what about carrying a usb portable charger while your detecting.

Yes, can be done based on what I have read.

This could extend battery life in the field.
Or could allow a person to detect with a not so charged up battery in Equinox.
Will add weight obviously to your body, or detector if you mount.

So the lion packs can be bought and used.
Like for approx $12-$20.

Down in this thread a ways, your question addressed.

That was one of the best articles I've read yet on the equinox! Why? Because that is the exact kind of hunting I do....mostly parks with lots of trash. Thanks for posting TNSS.
EDIT: I guess I would have a few questions for him.
1) What did that silver dollar come in as?
2) If most nickels were a solid 16, what were modern pulltabs coming in as?

Good questions. I was wondering the same.
