rain let up early afternoon and went to a colonial home I obtained permission from yesterday over the phone.
At 1st things were slow with iron, modern clad.
Then got a deep signal near a large maple tree.out popped this weird foreign large copper dated 1855.any ideas on this one? :?: then a 1907 Indian head and a brass put n take spinner toy.
about 10 feet away got another deep signal at 8 inches out popped another copper. this one being a 1788 Connecticut copper mailed bust facing left, both are in great shape and I was invited to come back anytime.

That is a half coin from an area called La Cuadra or "The Block". It is in the La Roija Province of Argentina. It has about 200 people living there.

Very nice coin, but I kind of like the kids top/dice game better.

Killer Dave! Thats a cool coin. I was thinking its Italian. Wonder why it was there:?: Must be a lot of goodies still there.

thanks for the info! now is this a rare coin or token that's what i'd like to know :D

Beautiful, out here in the Midwest we can only look at the finds you east coast guys make and drool. Congrats.

I think it might be a token instead of a true coin. Just "Googling" different word combinations, I found several referenced to "Mitad Tokens". There is even a book titled "The Mitad Tokens of Latin America".

very very nice! You seem to find large coppers like at the rate I find Memorial cents!

That 1788 coin is in great shape considering the age.
