Sanborn fire insurance maps....help...

That map is copyright controlled for some reason. Probably has something to do with Fort Knox lol.
I think everyone would like to get in there.

Those maps shouldn't be controlled because of Ft. Knox because in 1928 it didnt exist lol! But it is odd that most are viewable but the one is love to have isnt. And yes....so much history is on the reservation and is untouchable....sad....
 
It "existed" since construction began in 1918, but it started out as Camp Knox in my home town of west point. They trained in the early 1900s on our farm actually. In the 30's and 40's they base grew and many towns were removed. Those places will never get a hobbyist coil swung over them. One of my ancestors lived where the Godman airport on post is today. My small town is rich in history. I rarely go anywhere but here to detect. A Sanborn map would be a great tool for me to use at times.
