Found this detecting in my front yard. Pretty excited when I found it since it’s my first silver find.Any idea what the value might be? Thanks in advance.

Congrats on your first silver! It's value is around $1 give or take. You're hooked now. After popping my first silver it was game on.
 
Nice find! I love finding war nickels. That one looks really Nice! Was it a surface find? Someone may have dropped it recently. Some of the silver coins I find, even deep ones, look as good as the day they were dropped. War nickels are always discolored for me. I even had to take a hammer to one of them to get the thick gunk off! Regardless, that's a great find. They are not easy to find.

War nickels are 35% silver, 56% copper and 9% manganese. Their melt value today is 92 cents.
 
I found a 1940 in my coin rolls the other day,. Arrrgh, 2 years to old. HH

to me the value is PRICELESS
