Trash digging in the U.P.

Took a trip with a couple guys into the wilderness up north and had a chance to dig through some old trash dumps in the mining and logging areas... metal detecting wasn't very productive, but it was a fun time nonetheless (other than the ever-present black flies...) We all came home with a couple keepers from our excursions. So much interesting stuff in the old dumps. (All the stuff on the picnic table we dragged back to camp, including the big white pot - which Jeremiah is turning into a planter - and the duck...) We didn't bring it ALL home of course...

That looks like so much fun! Like the bottles and cups. The Pay Day thing(?) and Presto lid are cool too.

It’s a denim workwear button.. looks like it was a Penney’s brand from the 40s and 50s

Nice! A war coke, some 50s beer cans , an oil can or two.
Is that round thing with the reeds from a pitch pipe? It's pretty big though, maybe too big? ish my woods were as clear as that place - everything is so overgrown already.

That’s a very good question…. Pitch pipe would be my best guess but I really don’t know. I can’t find any examples with only 8 notes.
