He was shocked by the actions of people when asked if they would like a free gold coin or a snickers bar.....!!

This video helps explain why CRHing is still a successful hobby....seems these folks know nothing about nothing! Sheeech!

If this does not show up as an active link, just copy and paste into your browser! Unbelievable!

Well, can you blame them?
If the coin was plastic I bet they would've taken it!
Didn't your parents ever tell ya "don't take candy from a stranger?"
Besides, you can't eat gold!

I've seen that before. I always wondered if a person would actually accept the coin, would he try to talk them out of it. I mean a 2 dollar candy bar or a 1200 dollar coin. It would be hard to let go of a 1200 dollar coin, in my opinion.

HD in this vid, it was only a $150 coin, but still...

Hey, if it was one of us who knew the value of those coins we would have taken one, then maybe called our family and friends to come walking down that street, then those coins would have went quick :laughing::laughing:

This is a Fun and interesting experiment you can do right in your own neighborhood to assess the local PM intelligence base...modified of course...One of our Hunters does this kind of thing regularly, at restaurants, he offers the waitress a silver ring in lieu of a paper tip...for a breakfast tab...talking tops $3 fiat or a silver ring of her choosing...very few take the ring...disconcerting...

At our yearly garage sales, its a fun thing to evaluate local PM knowledge as a social experiment...About 1 out of 100 people are even interested or know what a Merc dime is, let alone the daily 'values' of Gold or silver ....they will buy 3 Hotwheel cars for a dollar though, beach toys, all day long...costume jewelry even, Maui Jim sunglasses for $100 easy...I sold a Tungsten ring for $60 last year even...Nice Beach towel pick ups go for $5....But nobody gives one diddly damn about a gold or silver ring at melt....Try to offload a silver half in trade, or a Q even...to the general populace...they look at you like you are trying to rip them off!

Last year, I did trade some Chucky Cheese tokens to some stupid kid down at the beer store....I slapped a fist full of them down on the counter nonchallant, as he looked at them confusedly, I told him they were the New Hillary Clinton Dollar coins! He gave a shrug and cashed me out! In his defense, the resemblance is striking you have to admit...

I bet I get $60 for this one big Beach blanket I dragged home! Collectors Item ya know...! If I find the right buyer, who only has a $100 bill, I'll give him $40 in change with Hillary coins!

I see this kind of test now and then on tv, and am always amazed that so many people are so blasted ignorant of things we used to all know. But what really gets my goat is nobody ever offers me the choice between gold & chocolate or anything else  Cause I know which one to pick!

 @ O-zero blanket.

These vids have been around forever. Not sure why he keeps making them. First it was a hershey bar and now a snickers. Maybe if he tries a butterfinger, he'll get the results he's looking for.

What amazes me is the lack of knowledge at the bank. Most people working at banks have no idea there was ever gold/silver in circulation. They have never seen a $500, $1000 or $10,000 bill and think they are fake.

Check out famous and prescient Americana Troubadour 'Boxcar Willie' on youtube...his musical documentary 'Luther' addresses this topic of perceived value in the general populace...

"They all called him crazy, said his mind was simple"

'Luther heres a Dollar, Luther heres a Quarter, take either one you want old man, which one will it be?' This is the crux of the PM market ignorance in America...

I cant help but think about this nowadays!

...."Luther heres a Bitcoin, Luther heres a Krugger, take either one you want old Man, which one will it be? How about a Snicker? Or a CocaCola? a Set of new Nike Sneakers or a Key date Mercury?

Luther, heres an Iphone, Luther heres a Gameboy! I got a nice fresh Ipod that is clean as it can be! I also got a Fitbit, a debit card and Snapchat, I'm sitting on a pension and a massive 401k...":?:

Luther heres a hotdog, Luther heres a Morgan, just mow my grass and rake my leaves, take your choice my friend....He always took the hotdog, and hogged it down with abandon, and left a slick of relish right on out my driveway!

There are certainly a lot of interesting comments on His Majesty's post! Young Prince John forwarded this video to me, and he thought it was hilarious, because He knows the correct choice! KT has raised him correctly in a Royal Appreciation of PMs!:lol:

I can understand the gold/silver part - but who on here has ever seen a $500, $1,000 or $10,000 bill? I've been around money for 55 years and I know I've never seen any  They were last printed about 1946 and removed from circ by 1969.

If your job is exchanging currency, shouldn't you at least have a knowledge of it? I admit the 10k note was a stretch.

At public auctions I have seen the $500 on 3 different occasions in the span of a few years in different towns, and about a year ago in a locked case at an auction outside the small town of Linn, Mo. I saw a$1000 & $500 displayed in the same case. Still couldn't tell you whose pic is on them though without googling them, lol.
Never heard of a $10,000 until now. I can only assume these bills were real as I never hung around long long enough to see them sold.

We need the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to print some Trillion dollar bills, and then pay off the national debt with them. I don't understand why we haven't done it already...am I the only one this idea has occurred to???

Money

The most I even seen was two pallets, one was $100.00 and the other was $20.00 bills both were (4'x4'x4'). :jawdrop::jawdrop:
Of curse I had two arm guards escorting to the job I had to do in the Federal Reserve.
