My 2013 Finds a little late I know but.....they're good

The Higley was actually found about 30 miles from the coast. It appears to be a square nail hole like you said.........I never knew the theory of them being attached to ships that is quite interesting.

I realize this is an old thread but I was just researching Higley copper varieties and remembered a thread on here where someone found one, so i searched for it.

Another neat fact about the Higley coppers.....they are especially rare b/c they were used by goldsmiths to alloy gold b/c of their purity.
I'm from the town he lived in....or I should say the town he grew up in was originally a part of the town I lived in.

I'd love to see more pics of that coin if you still have it.
