Hi all,
I thought I would check in after a pleasurable vacation at the beach. This was my first time detecting on an ocean beach, and all advice that I was offered was right on the money. I stayed on the dry sand and the Ace 250 performed very well and the home made sand scoop was exceptional. I went out each morning at about 7 and detected for about 2 hours. When the dolphins and waves were not distracting me, I think I did OK for a first timer.
Final tally:
29 quarters
21 dimes
7 nickles
45 pennies (one a 42 wheatie)
1 44 reminington mag round (I do not even want to know)
1 hotel room key
1 toy jet fighter
1 turqoise ear ring
1 kiddie ear ring
2 huge lead sinkers
1 1985 Topps Dave Winfield baseball card (only I could find this on a beach)
This plus the typical pull tabs and what-not. My coin to trash ratio was much better than anticipated, a very well kept beach. It was lots of fun!
HH all,
HJ
