I found this Hula Hopp medal and it says CONNY at its side.
No other writing or data - I presume from the early 1960's when those
rings were mode
I also found this old Ladies coat button.

Interesting spelling. I wonder if "HOPP" was intentional, or not. Typically it's called a "hula hoop". I could see that maybe it was a special even (like a sock hop, but devoted to the hula hoop). Very interesting medal, for sure! Congrats on the find!

Rammgager, the Hula Hopp coin is neat regardless of whether it's a commemorative coin for the movie or just a really terrible misspelling of Hula Hoop.
Digger27, your detective work is pretty neat too, and sure keeps FMDF a interesting place to park your prompt.

Thanks Digger27 for finding the exact ID and origin of this medal.
This woman must be over 80 now .
It was made of some white metal, like Duralum or similar.
Thanks all members for your input too!

Hula Hop

Ok, I will throw out there the possibility that the rings on the coin are symbols for the motions for the body when dancing and that Hula is referring to the Grass Skirts worn by Hawaiian Hula dancers. And a quick clip from the 1958 Hula Hop on You Tube has them dancing (hopping) in Hula Skirts.
This is just a possibility and my "guestimation" as we are all assuming these are hula hoops. :?:
