I was hunting not far from where I found my first large cent and discovered my first barber coin. A well used 1896 barber quarter. It was in close in with several large rusty nails but my Tesoro Golden had no trouble seeing it but only from one direction. I almost didn't dig it because of the scratchy sounds around it but I was feeling lucky so I went ahead. I was surprised as heck when I pulled it out. It has some contact corrosion from the nails but I think it will clean up.

Awesome!!! I found a Barber Quarter in my first few months of detecting. Haven't found one since. Really cool find.

Wow! You're on a roll! Congrats. You and the tesoro are doing well.

Congrats on the Barb! I always wonder about those scratchy signals and whether or not I missed something by not digging them.

Oldest coin- 1946 wheatie.

Very nice find, after about six hours of swinging I get lazy and tend to skip those iffy signal's. Good job on your find, may you find many many more.

Nice barber! My first was a barber dime. I am still looking for a barber qusrter.
