It was suggested that I post this here, so here it is!
Found this past weekend in a Wisconsin park.
Definitely my most awesome non-coin find ever!

Nice going. I have hunted over 30 years and found my share of plates, but that ain't one of them. Every time I see one posted I get jealous. Than I go outside and shoot another one of my detectors.:D
 
Nice pattern 1851 plate. Its common for the reefs to fall off.

Now your posting in the right place, lol. Congrats again on a sweet plate. Ive been lucky enough to find 3, but no sword belt plate

It was about 4-5" deep in a park renovation. The area was once a farmstead and so far I have been able to find that two of the family members served in the Civil War:yes:
