So I did some research and found a lot to detect that was a “colored persons” school from the 1920s to 1940s. Decided I’d give it a try. Before I go into detail I want to state that this city only has a few places that go back to 19th century and even then they were during or after civil war. I started digging and was pulling up trash and pop tops. I managed to get 3 wheat pennies out of the ground that range from the 20s to 40s. I was tired of digging pop tops and started heading back to the truck when I got a signal I thought could be a silver dime. When I pulled it deep out of the ground I was dumbfounded to find an 1811, 10 soldi staring back at me. I don’t know how that coin got there but it was very unexpected to come across in this area. It’s not very pretty but I’ll take it. I was just hoping to find some modern silver. After that I found a car wash token but I’m not sure how old. You never know what’s gonna come out the ground!
