Equinox 15x12 coil ear question

Are the ears on this cracked or is it the way this is cast? Perfectly straight lines on each ear in exactly the same spots.

Had another coil and didn't notice the same but this one may be older.

edit: Someone told me that this is normal. Figure better safe than sorry.

Looks like mold lines to me.

Don't over tighten the bolt. In fact I would shim the rubber washers so they fit snug on the shaft. They sell some ready made ones but I just made mine from a plastic milk jug cut to match the stock rubber ones and put them under the rubber.
