I dug this stuff on the battlefield. The stake I found close to where they had camped before the battle so I’m wondering if that could be a tent stake? Also a piece of a buckle. The rest is just chunks of metal, one of them has like circles on it I believe

I see a bearded man, head tilted to his right. Arms may be crossed???

Interesting possibilities. Wonder what those will look like after electrolysis. Too crusty now to give a confidant ID.

Do you think you could link me the most simple way you think to perform that? Thank you

Oh, I don't know much about it, really. I have only seen many good results from simple home-made electrolysis setups. Haven't yet tried it myself.
There are many better sources for that info than from me. Any Electro guys or gals out there with a quick link?

Thanks Zeemang! A good electro-bath might help determine if these are true battlefield remnants, or just rusty junk; maybe from later years.

If the location is accurately a War of 1812 battlefield site, then historical value should be kept in mind.

It 100% is. I dug it right on the huge field that butts up next to the historical park and the park is not big at all, the battle was. Also I didn’t dig anything that I could say was 100% junk and I wasn’t getting any junk beeps which makes me think that helps my chances. Thanks for the response !
