Dug this really cool Grand Army of the Republic button/pin/collar stud the other day !. There are no markings on the back. I know what the Grand Army is, but My Question is this; does anyone know when it would have been made and who manufactured it? I've only been able to find one photo so far, but no information on it.

Thanks!

Could be anywhere from the founding of the GAR in 1866 until probably the 1930's when it was fading fast.

The last surviving member of the organization, Drummer boy Albert Woolson, died in 1956 and the GAR ceased to be.
Probably yours stud is from the 1880s - 1920s. That was the time that it was thriving.
