Today I hit a favorite old local schoolyard for a short hunt. The weather was mild and the ground conditions were perfect, and after digging a bunch of clad I was lucky enough to score this 1942 Mercury dime about 8 inches down. It always seems kind of magical to see a shiny silver coin emerge from the dirt, and finding this one made my day.

Mercury dimes are my favorite coins, and I've been fortunate to find a few of them this year. This is the time of year to count your blessings, and I'm thankful to be able to enjoy this great hobby.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving - thanks for looking, and stay safe and healthy!

Man she's a beauty ! Nice close ups. Congrats. Hopefully you will find a few more before the ground freeze shuts us down. Good luck, Mark
