I drove up to Pennsylvania for Thanksgiving to see family. I got to hunt over the hill behind my uncles farm house which was built in the 1930s. before garbage collection services. nothing spectacular, but good fun. I found all that stuff in just a couple of hours. I also found out that my uncle, who bought the property in the 60s, and he never dumped trash back there. So all the stuff I found was from the family who owned the property before him. Most of the stuff is buried under leaves and dirt. And the hill was very steep. Next time I come up, I’m going to spend a whole day down there and see what I can find. The plastic Howard Johnson’s restaurant is a piggy bank. It was empty, of course. The license plate was my favorite find.

I also found out that the guy who used to run the movie projector in town(Aliquippa) was Ron DeSantis’s(my governor,) grandfather, and he lived two streets over from my grandfather. pretty cool.

Nice! No matter if it's from the Treasure Fleet or a bottle dump, you find the good stuff! :D

Not a particularly old dump but some of those plastic toys are so cool anyway, makes up for it! The same here, the freshly fallen leaves make it hard to spot stuff. I wait until Spring after the Winter snows mash them down, easier to see stuff. Like someone else said, you always find neat stuff, so we can't wait to see what you "uncover".

Is the Sew Right sewing machine a toy? Is it plastic or metal?

Interesting finds.

The sewing machine was plastic with metal parts. It was an actual functioning sewing machine made by Hasbro in the 60s. Hasbro was one of the biggest toy manufacturers. When everything was made in the USA. Hard to believe it was ever like that.
