I've dug horseshoes, mule-shoes, ox-shoes and even shoes for a burro/donkey but I have never seen a shoe(?) like yours? Hopefully someone can help you out...maybe it was some type of blacksmith shoe art? Ha!

yeah, my horse uses egg-bars, just gives the hoof full support and keeps it from spreading with weight. Keeps them from going lame, but when put on front hooves, it is easily pulled from the back hooves catching the rear of the front shoes.

Anyone know a date for this horse shoe. I've it half cleaned

Found it in a wall near a old English gentry house . I live in Ireland

Seems to be iron

I appreciate it's any info on it and a date

This thread is over three years old. You would be better served starting a new posting on "help I.d. my finds" section.

I see you're new to the forum, welcome from Missouri.

The OP's shoe is indeed an "Eggbar" shoe. They are the most commonly used therapeutic shoe.

Coh123's shoe is a machine made Werkman brand shoe. Nothing special. They are widely used, particularly in Europe (manufactured in Netherlands), but available worldwide.
