Does anyone have an opinion on what format is better to get from Historic Aerials? JPEG vs PNG.

Is there really any difference?

What about pixel size? 1800x1800 vs 3600x3600

Thanks

PNG is generally better quality because it uses lossless compression.

Can't say that. If you use jpeg in high quality there is hardly to none difference. Hardly any compression either then, but no difference.
And a png with high compression isn't that sharp either, although indeed better then highly compressed jpeg.

Problem is one mostly uses jpeg with compression for smaller files.

I go with nostalgia083. As less as possible compression, high resolution and high quality. The most details.
