I've been finding a lot of cell phones lately. Some are like new but of course water damaged. What do you guys do with them, Sell em or trash em?

I've found 5 cellphones, mostly walking the dog... The two that were functional, I returned to the owners, the other three I parted out. Two SD memory cards, two batteries, one small LCD (no specs, probably no use), three vibrating motors, small speakers, microphones, a camera element (no specs either), tiny LEDs... I play with electronics, so can make use of some of the parts.
Should try and return them, if you can, it's like finding a wallet, there is usually something in there worth more to the individual, that the replacement cost...

ive never found one but have seen videos that they do contain a little GOLD

If they are functional, you can donate them to troops for use overseas. It doesn't pay anything, but goes to a nobel cause.

i seen on tv were they have automated cell phone recycleing machine at malls and places around the countery and give you money for the cell phones

I just saw a web site on tv called gazelle. Com. Were you can turn them in. but I'm liking the other ideas better.Good tips. Thanks

Once the white strip inside turns red/pink from water damage, nobody is going to want them.
