thought I haad a large cent this afternoon, till I got it cleaned up a bit.....
I'd say its definitely from the era.....I have dug a few seated and Barber coins here.....I'm gonna have to guess this one might just be a token of some sort.....Haven't been able to find a match just yet online.......
Any idears ?????:?:

Thanks......I had a feeling it might be Canadian.........
That's cool.....I can tell its way old..........
And again, I was also thrown off on depth on these large coppers.....it rang up 5 inch quarter, but at 6 inches I still wasn't getting it on my propointer......

Nice job on the ID..........

Just found one of these 2 weeks ago. didn't get here quick enough to id it hahaha

Great ID and great find, that's an instant keeper right there! What did it ring up for numbers Bobac?

Yeah I was sure this was gonna be a modern quarter....I was getting 12-46 @ 5 inches....ended up being a tad bit deeper than that.....
Too bad there isn't just a tad bit more detail on it.......
So I see people call these things tokens, but I'd say they're more legal tender than a token if they were issued by banks......
oh well......its about ten cents worth of copper now........
was much happier with tonight's hunt......cleaning and photographing now.....on the clock.....:D

Great sleuthing work ice-scratcher !

Thanks, I've found a similar one from 1812, and have seen a few of the above found around here as well..

Might even be more common than large cents around here in Michigan...

They are more like Canada's first coins, than tokens IMO...
