Let me run this idea up the Friday Morning Forum flagpole and see who salutes...

Somebody should invent a machine called a "RingStar"...based on the Coinstar concept, modified a bit....You would step up to a RingStar and insert a Gold ring. The machine would weigh it, hit it with an XRF analyzer, take a sizing measurement, picture, access the current Spot Price of Gold via Wifi, ...deduct lets say 12% (current CS fee)...and then allow you a choice of taking the payment or retrieving the ring?

Should go over HUGE in Casinos one would think!!

Anyway...then the rings are stored in the machine individually, and the original depositor has a code# on his receipt that allows 48hrs to retrieve that ring for 10% more than either the current Spot, or 10% more than the original Spot at the time of deposit...which ever figure is the largest...

If unclaimed after the allotted time expires, another person could step up and scroll through the available rings inside via pictures on the screen.......and then may decide to purchase one for 20% over Spot, or over the initial assessed value given...again, which ever figure is largest...

Basically it would be an automated Pawn Shop/Jewelry store for Gold Rings!...only with no major 50% rip off, staff to hire, or outrageous up charge..!

Heck you wouldnt even need an attendant to come and clean it out all the time!...The uplink would let the franchise owner know exactly what the Gold value is inside that machine at any point in time, and it has the capability of selling the abandoned rings to a buying Public?....Whatcha tink? :?:

Its hard to find gold rings, its even harder to redeem them...this would be fast, fair, easy and simple...Hell! I would fly out to Harrahs and dump my finds, have a wonderful weekend, and if Lady Luck was favorable to me at the tables, and the Spot didnt go up too much, I could fly home with all my gold rings if I wanted to!

Could you imagine checking and finding rings in the Ringstar reject trays ! :laughing::laughing:
Yeah! Tungstens! Off course the Ringstar would be built with a pneumatic 'ballpuncher' kick out feature...Big warning on the screen..."You drop a tungsten in here, try to freak us, and you will get a robotic kick to the pills!":laughing: Try pressing assault charges on a robot smart guy!?

Honestly sounds like a great idea! I'd be looking through the available rings every day! But there should be some mechanism to allow diamond rings as well (i.e a diamond tester and grader)

I'm thinking that your onto a great concept :?:
Either genius or just a little on the shadiness of loan-sharking side :?:
Perhaps you should get in touch with,
Mark Cuban or Mr. Wonderful on the Shark Tank........
I like it...:lol::gettinmoney:
I'd be happy to invest with you say at 2%

Neat idea

I’d call it Ring GO Star!

I saw a “phone-star” aka ecoATM in the mall today. Weirdest thing ever. I guess if you have a cell phone you no longer need you can cash it in! I usually find a phone or two detecting each year. The phone-star may be a good thing.

Where might one subscribe to your Newsletter?

Yeah! Will it spit out the .925s?

The Bummer with silver rings...generally very little weight for a guy to expect any kind of decent money in melt value... I try to sell them ...sold 5 yesterday for $45..All five together didnt weigh as much as a BF Half! The buyer asked if I would take $10 per,..but heck, I gave a volume discount..What can I say? I'm a nice guy....

Yeah you know a RingStar would be a good idea and well within the realm of existing technology to construct...an easy way to evaluate the Gold content and $value of a find even...We wouldnt need no test kits or scales anymore!

The customer would be getting a fair price based upon the days Gold Value, no Human interaction, and have the possibility of reclaiming the item...
