***Revised title*** sorry for those who already saw this thread. I'm just trying to get a little more milage out of these finds. It's not very often I have finds of this quality

These are combined finds from several recent hunts. I was hunting this early 1800's horse track site yesterday and within 15 minutes dug my second ever Large Cent. Then an hour later dug my first ever silver 3 cent coin. I'm afraid that I "cleaned" what was left of the date right off the copper. I could make out 182x before I tried to make it better.

The rest of the finds are from two other sites, one a mid 1700's Colonial site that was abandoned in the early 1800's and another a local 1795 house that that had some Union CW activity on the property. I was pretty excited to dig my first shoe buckle frame and I dug what looks to be a small portion of a knee buckle. Thanks for looking!

Sounds like you had a great weekend! I wish I could say that I dug all of these finds this weekend but it was actually my combined finds from several hunts.

:wow2: Congrats! Those are some awesome finds you have there, congrats on all of it and the trime is very, very nice!

That's in a lot better condition then my 3 cent. Very nice man. When you said 2 coins equals $0.04 I thought you may have found two 2 cent pieces lol. Some good stuff there man. Nice digs and congrats.

VERY NICE!!!

You guys on the east coast have all the luck... *kicks a can*

Trust me, I know how you feel. That's what I always say about the guys in the Northeast. Sure there is some luck involved in these finds but there is also a lot of research and hours spent scouting for the sites.

Awesome haul! You have some really nice buttons & relics alongside those coins. Thanks for sharing

Love the finds. Congrats on the LC and the 3 cent piece. My one and only large cent looks about like yours, but you may be able to get a date based on how it looks. Check out this site.

It has a pic of all the years, and in the matron head era which yours and mine are in, there are so many head varieties, you may be able to narrow it down. I was able to date mine to 1835. Check the diameter. 29 mm is for 1835 and older. Yours is definitely older than 1838 as there is a line under "cent". if it's 29mm, it's at least 1835.

The 3 Cent is gorgeous!! I hope to one day add this to my finds list, but it eludes many detecorists for many years. You got a rare find there as I'm sure you know. Congrats.

Those are amazing! I like the Minne rounds too.

I don't think anywhere around me is old enough to have those kinda finds. :banghead:
