Is this some kind of a hitch? I'm not sure..that was our only guess. This thing is HEAVY; it weighs around 5-6 pounds.
I'm sure it's nothing that exciting, but hey. I'm just curious to know what it is since it's unusual to me!
This is the most I could get it clean, because it was caked in dirt and I don't want to risk ruining it.

It has the shape of many things.
Fire poker handle, stove lift, sickle bar mower or.....?
It would be a great candidate for electrolysis.
Or a long soak in vinegar.

odd shape for a stove handle and I thought a guard for a sickle bar mower but it is way to long and part would be missing and don't see where it broke off. Will not know until some of the crud is removed to define the shape. one picture looks like the end is a likeness of a bulls head. it could be something decorative from an old stove.

It's a steering knuckle, a very small one. You can see a ball joint is hanging from the bottom.
